About the author
A. F. Sitaru was born in Romania — the home of Vlad the Impaler — and has loved books and history for as long as she can remember. Her favourite periods are the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, and as a child she was fascinated by the untold stories of Vlad Dracula and Anne Boleyn, the tragic second wife of Henry VIII.
She spent most summers in a remote village in Romania, with her grandparents. Life there was simple, and she learned skills that feel almost forgotten today: fishing, working the land, caring for animals, riding horses, and even finding her way in the wilderness without a compass. ‘I can quite easily and happily go back in time and live in the 16th century,’ she states.
Having spent most of her life in the UK, she continues to explore the history that first captured her imagination. Her passion for Tudor England and Romanian history comes together in the Related to Dracula series.
